DANDY LIONS

Earth Day has passed and now the earth is definitely coming alive....the first dandelions are up in Toronto. Get out there and pick their leaves for your salad, like my Nonna used to do.  They make a great spring tonic.

MUSICAL FRIENDS

I was busy doing some recording yesterday, lucky me (see some pics at my other blog:
zoechilcodecadance2015.blogspot.com), and then I went to a memorial for a musician friend who died recently.
A sad/happy occasion, but really, a lovely way for everyone to say goodbye.  Fred Duligal was a saxophonist (and I learned yesterday, also played bass and piano).  He was very well-known, liked, and respected by a lot of other Toronto musicians, who came to pay their respects and their stories.
Fred also worked at Long and McQuade's, the music everything store for a lot of years.
I saw him last in the summer of 2014, at the Ross's annual lake jazz party. Here's a photo of him and me when I sang a tune.

SPRING'S OVER; BACK TO WINTER

I don't expect anything in the way of normal weather any more.  All that is dead and gone with the melting polar ice cap.
One cold day at a time.....
Meanwhile, the band has been rehearsing, and the women's choruses for my July gig, and last Friday was the annual "Words, Music, Wine & Art" event in Dorset, Ontario.


Great fun, and a lot of very talented artists.
