A sad/happy occasion, but really, a lovely way for everyone to say goodbye. Fred Duligal was a saxophonist (and I learned yesterday, also played bass and piano). He was very well-known, liked, and respected by a lot of other Toronto musicians, who came to pay their respects and their stories.
Fred also worked at Long and McQuade's, the music everything store for a lot of years.
I saw him last in the summer of 2014, at the Ross's annual lake jazz party. Here's a photo of him and me when I sang a tune.
